Episode 20 – Code Switching and Finding a Place

What’s it like to feel like you don’t belong to your own culture? Is it your culture? Do you have to belong and what does that mean? October from Ignorance Conscious joins me for the first time to talk about this and our experiences with being taught to code switch. Consider this pre-gaming for Black History Month which starts on Friday and is when October will upload her part of our conversation! Finding and identity for the African diaspora is so important because our culture, our identities were literally taken from us and we’ve only been free to reclaim or explore who we are as a people freely within the last 40-50 years.
